If you shot it on a smartphone, you can send it to SPFF.
ENTERING YOUR FILM IS EASY AND FREE
The Smartphone Film Festival is an independent festival showcasing short movies made on smartphone by Halifax professional, amateur and first-time filmmakers, app addicts and mobile device wizards. Selected films will be shown at SPFF’s one-night screening party in spring 2017, where filmmakers and film lovers will watch the creations and cheer on the winners of SPFF awards (“the Spiffies”) for the best movies.
Whether you’re an amateur filmmaker, a pro or a first-timer, SPFF is waiting for you. Everything you need to get involved is in the palm of your hand. Submissions are open to all ages. And it’s free to enter.
If you have more questions about becoming a Smartphone Spielberg, we have a whole page of SPFFAQs.
Whether you’re an amateur filmmaker, a pro, or a first-timer, SPFF is waiting for you. Check out last year's 'Spiffies" for some inspiration.

SPFF's official rules and regulations
Behind any great film is a lot of legal protection for the people involved. To make a long story short, SPFF doesn’t want to get screwed over by anyone, and it doesn’t want to screw anyone over, especially copyright holders. The full story is in these rules, which you are agreeing to abide by when you submit a film to the festival. You should read the full story.
